PSV were proclaimed champions of the Eredivisie for the 25th time in their history and after six years since the last time they lifted the Netherlands’ salad bowl. Peter Bosz’s team was better from start to finish in the championship and took advantage of Ajax’s disastrous start and Feyenoord’s irregularity to win the title.
In a last festive match (a draw against Sparta Rotterdam was enough), they had to come back to end up scoring, as almost always, even though their top scorer and star player, Luuk de Jong, did not score any of the goals. The former Sevilla and Barcelona player has 27 this season, an excellent number.
Sparta’s initial goal was turned around by Bakari (own goal) and Bakayoko. However, before the break Boscagli also tied with an own goal. The draw, even so, was enough for PSV to achieve their goal.
In the second half, Bosz’s men went for the win and achieved it in full celebration thanks to goals from Boscagli, this time in the rival goal, and Teze. A victory with which to end a fantastic season for those from Eindhoven.
