In the army up to fifty years. It is Vladimir Putin’s response to the heavy losses suffered by his forces in three months of war in Ukraine. The Russian parliament passed a law that raises the maximum age to serve in the army from 40 to 50. It does not mean that all men up to that age will be forced to wear uniforms and go to fight in the Donbass: it is only, for the Ministry of Defense, the possibility of recruiting fifty-year-old volunteers, on contract, or salaried.
