Qatar got the second ticket to the final of the Asian Cup: they will seek the two-time championship | National teams

The Asian Cup reached its final stage in Qatar, where there are now only two teams left in dispute and they will seek to achieve maximum glory on the continent. After the feat of Jordan, who reached the final for the first time by beating the big favorite, South Korea, 2-0 last Tuesday and reaching the decisive match.

However, Jordan was awaiting its rival this Wednesday, February 7, between Qatar and Iran, who played the second semifinal in the Asian Cup, which had the host country of the tournament as the winner.

The match began with a surprise, after 4 minutes Iran took the lead thanks to their striker, Sardar Azmoun, who took advantage of a defensive error by Qatar and tried to perform a bicycle kick that ended in the first score of the match.

However, Qatar did not take that long to equalize the match, after Jassem Gaber left things at a tie in the 17th minute. The score was a mid-range shot that ended in a deflection from an Iranian defender, which ended up entering the net.

Despite the partial tie, the locals did not want to leave things like that, and put the second goal on the scoreboard. An overflow on the left sector favored the player, Akraf Afif, who put those led by Titín Márquez back in the lead.

But the Persians were not going to stay with their arms crossed and in the 51st minute Iran would tie things up again. The person in charge of putting things equal was the midfielder, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, who scored from the penalty spot.

Now the locals will seek to defend the title when they face the Jordan team this Saturday, February 10, who will play in their first Asian Cup final.
