Real Madrid vs Manchester City considered as the final morning in Liga Champions. The two teams had to meet each other again this time in the quarterfinals.
The results of the Champions League quarter-final draw which was held at UEFA headquarters, Nyon, (15/3), brought together Real Madrid and Manchester City. The holder of the most Big Ear trophies will meet the defending champion.
Madrid will act as hosts first in the first leg (9/4). Los Blancos then changed to visiting the Etihad Stadium in the second leg (16/4).

The results of this draw exacerbated the feud between the two teams in the last few seasons in the Champions League. The reason is, Madrid and Man City have always met in the semifinal match in the previous two editions.
Real Madrid successfully eliminated Man City with an aggregate of 6-5 in 2021/22. The Citizens then responded in the 2022/2023 season after eliminating Madrid with a 5-1 aggregate.
Madrid director, Emilio Butragueno, meeting Man City again is clearly a challenge for his team. He predicts this match will be fierce.
Butragueno even felt that this match was like an early morning final considering the quality of both sides. Moreover, Madrid and Man City are still able to maintain consistent play this season.
“This should be a final, considering the quality of these two teams. But this has arrived in the quarter-finals and we have to face it. We face a challenge that demands the best from all of us,” said Butragueno, quoted on the Real Madrid website.
“The team must be prepared to play two fantastic matches in the hope of reaching the semifinals. The players will be eager to show that they want to be champions and they have the skills needed to continue progressing,” he explained.
