The deadline for submitting the IR 2024 declaration is 8am on Friday and runs until 11:59pm on May 31st.
Of the total declarations delivered, 47.3% were made using the pre-filled model, which imports data sent by banks, financing companies, hospitals, doctors, dentists, property registry offices and even aircraft registration to the Federal Revenue Service.
Furthermore, more than half (57.2%) were simplified declarations. The average age of declarants is 44 years old, and the state that sent the most declarations was São Paulo (744,182). In Rio, 219,208 declarations were delivered early this Monday morning.
The government expects to receive 43 million declarations this year. Last year, there were 41.1 million.
This year, the government raised the annual income limit for those required to declare to R$30,639.90, which includes salary, retirement and pension from the INSS or public bodies. In previous years, the limit used was R$28,559.70.
