In a statement, the Ministry expressed “its most sincere condolences for the death of former Foreign Minister Rodrigo Pardo García-Peña and extends a greeting of solidarity to his family and friends in these moments of deep sadness.”

In the letter, they highlighted the work of the former chancellor and his contributions to foreign policy. “His professional career was linked to the work of this Ministry, where he served as Chancellor, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of Colombia in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and in the French Republic. Likewise, from the academy he was one of the pioneers in the study of international relations,” the statement indicates.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured that it will arrange the opening of the book of condolences in the facilities of the San Carlos Palace, as well as in the Colombian Embassies abroad.

Finally, the Foreign Ministry highlighted Rodrigo Pardo’s passion for journalism, as well as the contributions made from various media outlets where he held notable positions.
