In the Friday evening floodlit game of the 25th round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, the Articulated SCR For the West duel, the “team of the hour” in the qualifying group, the one with the same number of points WSG Tyrol. The 22-year-old Slovenian skilfully took the ball with his head and hooked the ball before the Altach goalkeeper grabbed hold of him in desperate need and got something from the WSG top scorer, only to then leave the field due to injury. Tobias Schützenauer moves between the posts for the 30-year-old Austria-Macedonian (24th).
The series of “bankruptcies, bad luck and mishaps” that has recently followed the Vorarlberg team is now running its course, as captain Lukas Jäger also sees his ninth card after a foul and is therefore set for next Saturday in the Vorarlberg duel against bottom team SC Austria Lustenau out (22nd). In terms of the game, both teams largely neutralize each other in the first half, which is extended by seven minutes. It’s the typical game that has met the standard in the qualifying group so far this season: intense, balanced, safety first, little risk, the main thing is not to lose.
One Lukas follows the other – brotherly duel after break
From the second half onwards, the Rheindörflers have a duel with brothers and sisters with WSG central defender David Gugganig when Lukas Gugganig is substituted in place of Lukas Jäger, who has a yellow card. Who has to survive a tricky sixteen-man situation with the guests immediately after the restart. What a turbulent scene in the six-yard box after Reiner’s pass to Demaku, goalkeeper Stejskal just reflexively prevented the team from falling behind (47′).
Like on the other side, substitute Altacher Gugganig headed the ball against Ogrinec (53′). Both teams are now acting more courageously and are more focused on winning.
Goalkeeper Stejskal avoids falling behind with two great saves
The steadfast team was dangerous at set pieces, Koller’s header to Gebauer’s corner, Stejskal parried (61′). Then Gebauer volleys in the margin, Bacher blocks (62′). Wattens wavers in this phase, but then suddenly launches a promising counterattack – goalkeeper Schützenauer is just in front of Prelec with a foot save far from his goal (63′). The game got going, entertaining and exciting. But then it subsides again.
When everything was already leading to a 0-0 final score, Sandi Ogrinec scored, but the Salzburg referee Sebastian Gishamer immediately had his arm up and punished a questionable offensive foul play by Nik Prelec when it occurred, which made coach Thomas Silberberger and the Tyroleans very upset (88.). So it remains a performance-based draw, both teams remain undefeated in the qualifying group and now have 12 points each.
