THE SENATE APPROVED THE CREATION OF NATIONAL FABRY DISEASE AWARENESS DAY. THIS IS A RARE PATHOLOGY THAT CAN AFFECT VARIOUS ORGANS AND CAUSE KIDNEY AND HEART FAILURE. REPORTER PEDRO PINCER The Senate approved this Tuesday the proposal by former federal deputy Mariana Carvalho that creates National Fabry Disease Awareness Day, a rare, genetic pathology that affects several systems of the body. It is characterized by the deficiency or absence of an enzyme that helps in the release of substances generated in cells. The areas most affected by the accumulation of waste in tissues are the skin, heart, kidneys and central nervous system. The main causes of mortality are caused by kidney and heart failure. The intention of the project is to encourage actions by public authorities, in partnership with medical entities, universities, associations and civil society, to expand knowledge about the disease and anticipate diagnoses. The project goes to sanction.
