Manuel Neuer will also miss the next two international matches. The FC Bayern Munich goalkeeper left Frankfurt early due to a torn muscle fiber in his left adductor. Neuer sustained the injury in Wednesday’s training and will therefore probably miss the top Bundesliga game against Borussia Dortmund.
Particularly tricky: It was only announced on Wednesday morning that Julian Nagelsmann had chosen Neuer as the European Championship goalkeeper. Now the national coach has to rely on Marc-André ter Stegen, who had already represented Neuer after his broken leg, on Saturday against France and on Tuesday against the Netherlands.

The international matches in November took place without Neuer, even though he was supposed to make his comeback. The 37-year-old last played at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Despite the injury, it is extremely unlikely that Nagelsmann will change his mind again with a view to the European Championships.
