Spain is preparing to witness an exceptional astronomical event as it will receive an unprecedented trio of solar eclipses in the coming years. The first total solar eclipse is set to occur on August 12, 2026, and will be visible in cities such as A Coruna, Gijon, Oviedo, Santander, Valladolid, Vitoria, Zaragoza, Valencia, Castellón, Tarragona, and the Balearic Islands. Madrid and Barcelona, however, will miss out on this event. The second total solar eclipse is scheduled for August 2, 2027, and only Cadiz and Malaga, along with the autonomous cities, will have the privilege to witness this natural phenomenon. The third eclipse, an annular solar eclipse, will take place on January 26, 2028, but unfortunately, this event will be canceled due to the moon being further from Earth and not completely covering the Sun. While the annular eclipse will be partially visible across Spain, its route will be limited to specific regions that include Andalusia, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, Madrid, Murcia, C. Valenciana, Aragon, Catalonia, and the Balearic Islands.
Spain will receive an unprecedented trio of eclipses (and it is already known when the dates will be)
