A special session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska is scheduled for Thursday, April 18 at 10 a.m.

At this session, the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska will consider the Proposal for the Election Law, the Proposal for the Law on Referendum and Citizen Initiative, as well as the report of the Independent International Commission for Researching the Suffering of All Peoples in the Srebrenica Region from 1992 to 1995, the Parliamentary Collegium decided today.

The President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, said after the session of the Collegium that the agenda of the special session of the parliament will also include other important issues concerning the immunity of certain people, as well as enabling certain punished persons to exercise their rights to income in a legal way.

Regarding the election law of Srpska, he said that according to Dayton, the Republic will be one electoral unit, and that the Republican Electoral Commission will also be responsible for the election of the president of Srpska, deputies, councilors and mayors.

Stevandić added that the composition of the delegation of the Assembly of Srpska in the parliamentary forum Republika Srpska – Serbia, which will meet twice a year, will also be decided at the session.

He said that certain procedures have been initiated before the European courts against the illegal Christian Schmidt to ban his activities in these areas.

Stevandić stated that the 13th special session of the National Assembly, which will have five agenda items, will be held on Thursday, April 18, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Also on the agenda are the Draft Law on Amendments to the Labor Law – under urgent procedure and the Draft Law on Immunity of the Republika Srpska.

The head of the SDS Deputies Club, Vukota Govedarica, said that the election law of Srpska, as it was previously proposed and adopted in draft form, is unacceptable for this party.

The head of the Club of PDP deputies in the Assembly, Igor Crnadak, said that this party will not support the Proposed Election Law of Republika Srpska, and stated that this decision should be withdrawn if “we want the good of Srpska”.
