The 31-year-old from Gol has been on the podium in all races this season. She has won seven of them. The victory in the Janteloppet was the eighth in her Ski Classics career.
– You can think of quite a lot of strange things in five hours. I thought about the season, and I thought about the banquet tonight, and how tired I was going to be there, says Emilie Fleten after the victory.
Emilie Fleten went early in the race, got a gap and crossed the finish line over eight and a half minutes ahead of Karolina Hedenström, who finished second. Nadine Fähndrich from the Swiss national team took third place.
