After the one on the fixed network, the results of the nPerf Barometer of mobile Internet connections in Switzerland for the period from 1 January to 31 December 2023 also arrive.
The data study reveals that Swisscom subscribers enjoyed the best overall performance in mobile Internet usage in the Swiss country.
The nPerf score takes into account measurements of data transfer speed and latency, as well as web browsing and video streaming performance, thus representing the overall quality of the user experience for common Internet use. All tests were carried out throughapp nPerf Internet Speed Testavailable on Android and iOS platforms.

Download Speed
In the analysis of the period, from January to December 2023, Swisscom provided the fastest download speed in Switzerland, reaching a remarkable speed of 191 Mb/s.
Download speed indicates the amount of data a connection can receive in one second, and values above 25 Mb/s are considered excellent, allowing for advanced uses such as streaming 4K video. In international comparison, the Swiss average of 144 Mb/s exceeds countries such as Austria (119 Mb/s), Germany (98 Mb/s) and Italy (74 Mb/s).
Latency
Salt achieved the best result in terms of latency, recording 24 ms. Latency measures the time it takes for a small data packet to make a round trip between your device and the speed test server. Latency values between 0 and 30 ms are considered excellent, allowing for real-time interaction.
Upload speed
Swisscom also dominated in upload speed, delivering an average of 34 Mb/s. Values above 10 Mb/s are rated excellent and allow users to upload HD videos to the Internet.

Salt offers the best video streaming experience in Switzerland, scoring 89.5%. The streaming test measures the quality of watching videos on the most popular platform in the world: YouTube. A score between 75% and 100% indicates smooth and optimal video streaming.
Web Browsing Test
Swisscom and Sunrise subscribers enjoyed the best performance in web browsing, achieving a score of 75%, equivalent to an average page loading time of 2.5 seconds.
Focus on the 5G connection
Subscribers of Swisscom, Salt and Sunrise enjoyed the best 5G mobile connections in Switzerland in 2023. Specifically, Swisscom offered the best average 5G download speed (293 Mb/s) in 2023.
These results underline Swisscom’s leadership in mobile Internet connections in Switzerland, highlighting exceptional performance in several categories, from high download speeds to low latency and a first-rate video streaming and web browsing experience.
