The 2024 Oscar Nominees – MONDO MODA

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced this Tuesday (23) the nominees for the Oscar 2024. Actress Zazie Beetz and actor Jack Quaid presented the names of the nominees.
“Oppenheimer” competes in 13 categories, including Film, Director, Actor, Supporting Actor and Adapted Screenplay. “Poor Creatures” received 11 nominations and “Killers of the Flower Moon” was remembered 10 times. “Barbie” was the fourth film on the list, with eight nominations.

This year, professionals from more than 93 countries voted, in an attempt by the Academy to bring more diversity to the awards. Five black actors are in the running: Jeffrey Wright (“American Fiction”) and Colman Domingo (“Rustin) are competing in the Best Actor category. Danielle Brooks (“The Color Purple”) and Da’Vine Joy Robinson (“The Rejects”) as Supporting Actress and Sterling K. Brown (“American Fiction”) as Supporting Actor. Robinson is the only one with a big chance.

Lily Gladstone became the first artist of American indigenous origin in the award race. She is nominated for Best Actress for the film “Killers of the Flower Moon”. Five years ago, Yalitza Aparicio (“Roma”) was the first of indigenous Mexican origin.
