The challenge of Sumaya, the first Emirati student to study in Israel

DUBAI – She was born in Boulder Colorado, but Sumaya al-Mahabiri she is of Emirati nationality, lives in her beloved Dubai and is officially the first UAE student to have enrolled in an Israeli university, that of Haifa. Since the peace treaty with Israel was signed in September, relations between the two countries have been growing: Sumaya’s participation in the Haifa nursing school will strengthen academic ties and also encourage other students to participate in programs of exchange.
