Former senator Armando Benedetti held the formal ceremony in Italy, where the embassy he will occupy will be based.

Benedetti’s commitments. “I will seek to materialize the agreement signed by the President and Director of FAO to strengthen cooperation, advance the fight against hunger and promote prosperous rural societies,” said.
He also committed to leading the management of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Program (WFP), key organizations in Petro’s policies to reduce hunger and rural poverty.
Benedetti returned to the Petro government. He resigned from the Venezuelan Embassy in the middle of last year due to the scandal of the beatings of Laura Sarabia’s former nannies.
But, as we said, his appointment as ambassador to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) confirms that his silence is worth gold and has blackmail power for Petro. Well, in addition to the Sarabia scandal, he is also involved in the investigations into Petro’s campaign. He played a leading role in the presidential campaign in the Caribbean and could provide very important information to the lines of investigation being handled into the possible entry of irregular money.
His appointment was also not well received by the Foreign Ministry union because they find that he is not suitable to assume the position because he does not meet the requirements of the resume: command of another diplomatic language, not having technical knowledge about agriculture and food.
I leave you this story about his return to the Petro government as Colombia’s ambassador to the FAO.
