BEIJING – Once again the Solomon Islands they are the thorn in the side of American attempts to regain influence in Pacific to counter the Chinese advance in the region. At the two-day summit organized for today and tomorrow at the White House by US President Joe Biden with 12 nations and territories in the area, the Solomons have already made it known – according to a document previewed by Reuters – that they will not sign the final declaration of the summit.
