Hansi Hinterseer and his second wife Romana can now look back on around 40 years together. It all started with opening a gym.
Hansi Hinterseer began his career as a ski racer and celebrated many successes in his sporting career, including winning a World Cup medal. The native Austrian later changed careers and started his pop career in the 1990s after he was discovered by US singer Jack White. He also made a name for himself in the music industry and also gained a foothold as an actor. At his side from the start: his wife Romana.
“That’s where bingo did it”
For Hansi Hinterseer and his Romana, it was probably love at first sight, says the musician, who turns 70 on Friday. “We were both invited to the opening of a fitness studio in Gstaad. That’s where we saw each other for the first time. That’s when bingo happened. I was immediately fascinated by her eyes.” His current wife had already known him as a skier on television. After the meeting he traveled to the USA, but wrote a letter to his Romana. “It consisted almost entirely of hearts,” she remembers at “Bild”.
The two married in 1986 and had two daughters, Laura and Jessica, during their marriage. They have now left the house and have started families of their own. “My daughters Laura and Jessica have now made me a grandfather of two. I like that. The little ones can of course call me ‘Grandpa’. I’m very relaxed about that,” reveals the pop star. “Hansi loves it when the whole family is around him,” says his wife.
Hansi and Ramona Hinterseer are also a professional team. “Romana has already written 22 songs for me. One of her songs is also on my new album ‘Schön, das du sind’.” The 65-year-old explains that she knows exactly what he wants to sing and say to his fans because she has known him for so long.
The marriage to Romana is not the first for Hansi Hinterseer. In October 1975 he married his first wife Anneliese Gröderer. Four years later the relationship broke down.
