Aeroméxico Airlines Confirms Birth of Baby on Flight AM113
A heartwarming story has emerged from the social networks of Aeroméxico Airlines, where it was confirmed that a pregnant passenger gave birth to her child during a flight on March 15. The miraculous birth took place on flight AM113, which was en route from Mexico City to Ciudad Juárez.
Passengers on the flight shared videos on social media showing a doctor who happened to be traveling on the aircraft, as well as the Aeroméxico Airlines crew, assisting in the delivery of the baby. Pilot Sebastián Estrada praised the flight attendants for their quick thinking and professionalism in handling the emergency.
The mother, reported to be a migrant woman from Haiti, and the newborn baby arrived safely at their destination. Upon landing at Ciudad Juárez International Airport, they were swiftly transferred to a hospital for further medical attention.
In light of the special circumstances surrounding the birth, Aeroméxico Airlines announced that the baby, who was born on the airline’s 90th anniversary, will receive a special gift – the opportunity to fly 90 times for free.
Aeroméxico Airlines also provided insight into their policies regarding pregnant women flying with the airline. Passengers between weeks 1 to 32 of pregnancy do not require any documentation. However, from week 33 onwards, a medical certificate is needed to certify the passenger’s fitness to travel. For passengers with high-risk pregnancies at any stage, a medical certificate becomes mandatory.
