American rapper and songwriter Travis Scott stars in the new film by the always provocative director Harmony Korine, “Aggro Dr1ft”along with the Spanish actor Jordi Mollà.
With the publication of the trailer for Harmony Korine’s film, “Aggro Dr1ft”, the jump to the screen of the artist Travis Scott has been revealed, who plays a hitman in a dystopian and violent world. Furthermore, his partner and co-star is the Spanish actor Jordi Mollàknown for his role in films such as “Ham, Ham”, “Nobody knows anyone”, “In the heart of the sea”, “Absent” and many others.
For its part, let us remember that Harmony Korine is the director of cult films such as “Gummo” (97), “Julien Donkey-Boy” (99), “Spring Breakers” (12) o “The Beach Bum” (19), and who has previously worked with other musicians such as Sonic Youth, Rihanna, Die Antwoord, Cat Power y The Black Keys, among others. He was also the screenwriter of two of the most important films of Larry Clark, “Kids” (95) y “Ken Park” (02).
And what’s more, the collaboration between Travis Scott and director and producer Korine is not new, since both worked together on “Circus Maximus”a film accompaniment to the album “Utopia”. Choosing Scott for the project was based on her ability to create worlds through her music, which perfectly complemented Harmony’s artistic vision.
“Aggro Dr1ft”, which premiered last year at the Venice International Film Festival, breaks the parameters of cinema by exploring modern life through the “game” aesthetic. To achieve that atmosphere similar to that of invented world games like World Of Warcraft o Fortnitethe feature film was filmed entirely through an infrared lens.
The film, which marks and challenges the limits of contemporary cinema, will be released on February 7 and 8 at the Los Angeles Strip Club, Crazy Girl, and will feature innovative music from Scott.
