Twelve arrests after violence following Fenerbahçe victory at Trabzonspor

According to the Turkish Interior Minister, twelve people were arrested after the violence which broke out on Sunday following Fenerbahçe’s victory at Trabzonspor (3-2). Bordo-Mavi supporters entered the pitch and violently attacked Fenerbahçe players, who were celebrating their success. Goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic notably received a punch in the face during the scuffles.

In addition to the supporters who invaded the pitch, five people who launched calls for violence on social networks were also arrested. Denouncing “unacceptable” events, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) said on Sunday that “the necessary criminal sanctions would be imposed on those responsible for these incidents”.
