Two Russian journalists, Konstantin Gabov and Sergey Karelin, were arrested in Russia on Saturday on charges of “participation in an extremist organisation”, a crime punishable by up to six years in prison. This was announced by the press office of the Moscow court, according to which the two collaborated with the group of dissident Alexei Navalny, the main political opponent of President Vladimir Putin who died in a Siberian prison in very unclear circumstances last February 16, whose movement has been illegal in the country since 2021. According to the accusations, the two participated in the creation of videos for the YouTube channel of the group linked to Navalny.
