  • Zelensky: “battle for Donbass one of the most brutal fought in and for Europe”

«The battle for the Donbass region will go down in history as one of the most brutal fought in Europe and for Europe». This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, following the admission that the troops of Kiev had been rejected by the center of Severodonetsk, which, together with Lysychansk, currently remains the only Ukrainian stronghold in the Luhansk region, in Donbass. Government officials said three key bridges connecting Severodonetsk to Lysychansk are now impassable for vehicles, meaning that inbound supply routes and outbound evacuations across those routes are impossible.

Zelensky said that the Ukrainians face the «significant advantage of the Russians in the quantity of equipment and, in particular, in the artillery systems. The price of this battle is very high for us. It’s scary. And we draw the attention of our partners on a daily basis to the fact that only a sufficient number of modern artillery for Ukraine will guarantee our advantage and, ultimately, an end to the Russian torture of the Ukrainian Donbass ”.

  • Stoltenberg: If it is attacked, we will defend Sweden

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said it would be “unthinkable” for the Atlantic Alliance not to defend Sweden, hoping for membership, if that country were attacked. War remains the biggest concern among people around the world, according to a survey conducted by Kantar.

  • Amnesty International: Russians use cluster bombs, it’s a war crime

Moscow’s use of cluster bombs and indiscriminate bombing of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, constitutes a war crime, Amnesty International said in a report released yesterday.
