Criminal complaints to asylum seekers who know they are arriving illegally in the UK, the possibility of confining them to islands or disused oil platforms pending deportation or a decision on their status, much stricter rejections in the case of arrivals on boats. It is the new, very tough law on immigration and on the right of asylum of the British immigration minister, the “hawk” Priti Patel (also the daughter of immigrants), which is already attracting criticism from various humanitarian associations, which speak of criminalization of refugees.
