LONDON (ITALPRESS) – Prince Philip died at the age of 99. Buckingham Palace announced it: “It is with great regret that Her Majesty the Queen announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He died this morning at Windsor Castle”. Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh, married to Queen Elizabeth II since 20 November 1947, had four children: Carlo, Anna, Andrea and Edoardo. Born Prince of Greece, grandson of the King of Greece Constantine I, before marriage he gave up his Greek titles, was accepted into the Church of England and adopted the surname Mountbatten. The day after his marriage he received the treatment of “Royal Highness” from King George VI and the following day the titles of Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth and Baron Greenwich.
