Ángelo Campos failed to comply with his sanction by entering the technical area of the National Stadium to celebrate Hernán Barcos’ disallowed goal in the classic (X – Franco Velazco).
The bad news continues to reach Alianza Lima, because a video that went viral on social networks captured Ángelo Campos entering the technical area to celebrate what could have been Hernán Barcos’ equalizer in the final minutes of the 1-0 defeat against Universitario of Sports at the National Stadium. That is to say, he did not comply with the three-date sanction that was imposed on him for his actions in the first final last year, in which he entered the warm-up at the Monumental Stadium, with a flag of the ‘blue and white’ team, a fact that the Justice Commission of the FPF interpreted as “provocation to the public.”

In this context, Franco Velazco, a ‘merengue’ lawyer, issued a complaint on social networks and asked the authorities of League 1 and the Peruvian Football Federation to take action against the goalkeeper. The lawyer also took the opportunity to remember some controversial messages that the painting of La Victoria issued through the speakers of the ‘colossus of José Díaz’.
“The player Ángelo Campos could not be on the court due to his suspension. No wonder last night, through their speakers, they said that “they pay because they can and turn off what they want.” We expect an immediate reaction from League 1 and the FPF; “The rules are there to be followed and not to be publicly flouted,” he wrote on his social networks.
Franco Velazco, Universitario’s lawyer, requested sanctions against Ángelo Campos.
Let us remember that article 184 of the League 1 2024 Regulations, corresponding to the section “Disciplinary Matters” and called “Prohibition of entry to the locker room and technical area” states the following:

“The sanction of suspension expressly prohibits suspended players and/or members of the coaching staff from entering the stadium locker rooms, where their team plays a match while the sanction is in force. Likewise, they may not be located in the technical area of the playing field or surrounding area that allows them to give instructions directly to the team members.”
This accusation comes in a context in which Campos’ sanction had just been reduced from four to three games due to an appeal presented by Alianza Lima, which is why the 30-year-old goalkeeper was available for the next match they will hold. those led by Alejandro Restrepo, which will be this Sunday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. against Unión Comercio at the IPD stadium in Moyobamba.

A new sanction against Ángelo Campos could create a big problem for the ‘people’s team’, because on the next date they will not be able to count on Franco Saravia, his natural substitute, because he was expelled in the classic for a foul last man against José Rivera.

In this context, the ‘intimates’ will have to place all their trust in Ángel De la Cruz, a young 21-year-old goalkeeper who has not yet had the opportunity to make his professional debut and who last year was on loan at Sport Boys, where he did not have chances, since he was behind Álvaro Villete and Ismael Quispe.
Fabrisio Mesías, Ángel De la Cruz, Ángelo Campos and Franco Saravia are the four goalkeepers for Alianza Lima this season.
Although he is currently the third goalkeeper, in La Victoria there are hopes poured into De la Cruz, who has shown conditions both in the lower categories and in the reserves tournament. In addition, he is 1.96 meters tall, an unusual size among Peruvian soccer players and a key factor for goalkeepers. He also has experience in the lower categories of the Peruvian national team, as he was part of the Under 17 team that almost qualified for the 2019 World Cup.
Another alternative is 17-year-old Fabrisio Mesías, who in 2023 was key to the qualification of the Alianza Sub 18 to the final of the Half World Cup and is considered for the Sub 20 that will face next year’s South American in Chile.
