Absurd tragedy in Florida. A two-year-old boy accidentally killed his mom, Shamaya Lynn, with a gunshot to the head while she was hooked up on Zoom for a business meeting. The gun had been left loaded and unsecured by his father in a backpack. The man, a 22-year-old, was arrested on charges of manslaughter. The woman was 21 years old.
The first to call the police officers were the victim’s colleagues, who witnessed the scene live. But even before the arrival of the police in the house, Veondre Avery, 22, the woman’s companion and father of the child, arrived, finding himself in front of a chilling scene: he immediately called the help that was already directed towards their Altamonte Springs home.
The gun was kept in a backpack from the “Paw Patrol”, a series of cartoons much loved by children. The little boy found it and headed for his mother. A single shot went off and fatally hit the woman in the head. It is still unclear whether the weapon was legally held. However, the police have arrested Veondre Avery who will now answer for manslaughter and negligence. The woman’s two children were entrusted to her family.
