Police Investigate and Solve Homicide in Portuguesa State
The director of the Cicpc, Douglas Rico, recently announced on social media that the homicide of Jean Carlos Regalado Parada, 43 years old, has been clarified by investigations conducted by the Acarigua Municipal Delegation. The incident occurred on November 21 in the Portal de Las Brisas urbanization in Portuguesa state.
According to reports from lapatilla.com, the commissioner explained on Instagram that after the victim was admitted to a clinic with multiple gunshot wounds, a multidisciplinary commission of the scientific police conducted field work, film and telephone analysis and criminal record checks. These efforts determined the involvement of a 17-year-old, an 18-year-old, and a 33-year-old man, all of whom are members of a criminal organization dedicated to vehicle theft in the area.
The perpetrators shot Jean Regalado multiple times after he resisted the theft of his vehicle. Following a police operation, the capture of the suspects was carried out in the Duriga II and III urbanization, Acarigua parish, where five mobile phones, a stolen Ford Fiesta, and a pistol-type firearm were recovered.
It was discovered that a criminal group leader, known as “El Miguel,” who is currently on the run, provided weapons and ammunition to the perpetrators. As a result, his arrest warrant, as well as those for “El Chueco” and “Mechito,” have been requested. These individuals are being investigated for armed robbery, vehicle theft, homicide, and damage to property.
The case has been handed over to the Fifth and 11th Prosecutor’s Office of the state Public Ministry for further action.
