Vitor Roque was the character of this Saturday’s game (3/2) in which Barcelona beat Alavés 3-1, in the 23rd round of the Spanish Championship, at the Mendizorrota Stadium, in Vitória, in the Basque Country. After all, the Brazilian boy came on in the 14th minute of the second half to replace Gundogan, injured, when the game was 2-1. He then scored a beautiful goal in the 17th minute. But he received a yellow card (unfair) in the 20th minute and a red card (unfair ) at 27. In 13 minutes, he experienced heaven and hell. Before, Lewandowski and Gundogan scored for the Catalans and Samu had scored for Alavés.
Less bad for Barça. Even without playing a great game, he managed to get three important points, reaching 50. Thus, he remained in the Champions League zone. But well behind Real Madrid (57) and Girona (55), both with a game in hand. Alavés has 26 points and is in 11th
Beautiful goals
The first 45 minutes were Barcelona with the ball, but erratic and depending on individual moves. Alavés closed down and looked for counterattacks with direct calls to Samu. In their best play at this stage, Barcelona scored. Gundogan found Lewandowski in the middle of the defense pair and made a low ball. The Polish star adjusted and took a touch, covering goalkeeper Silvera. As soon as they scored, Alavés started to attack and almost scored with Samu.
In the second half, Barça scored the second goal in a beautiful individual play by Lamine Yamal. The ball reached Pedri who raised it for Gundogan to catch it first time. A painting. However, Alavés came out and reduced the score. Sola made a great move advancing down the right and crossed to Samu. The striker, on loan from Atletico Madrid to the Basque team, headed past Iñaki Peña.
Vitor Roque vapt-vupt
The game was tough and Gundogan, who was Barcelona’s best, was injured after 13 minutes. Vitor Roque took his place. And the Brazilian revelation didn’t come cheap. At 17, he received it from Fort and with a first-time touch he killed goalkeeper Silvera. However, shortly afterwards, referee Juan Martínez Munuera gave Vitor Roque a yellow card for a foul without any violence. And, shortly after, he gave the red in a move in which the defender entered with a cart and the Brazilian jumped to avoid contact. Instead of giving Barça a free kick, he showed Vitor Roque a second yellow. Nobody understood. With ten, Barcelona let time pass, holding on for 3-1.
