The Polish bomber received a through pass from Ilkay Guendogan before chipping the ball beyond the reach of Alaves goalkeeper, Antonio Sivera. The ball went into the goal and gave Barcelona a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Barcelona doubled their lead four minutes into the second half. This time it was Guendogan who managed to break into Alaves’ goal.
Guendogan grabbed Pedri’s cross from the left side of the penalty box. Barcelona moved away 2-0.
Alaves reduced the deficit in the 51st minute. Samuel Omorodion met Alex Sola’s cross from the right with a header aimed into the goal.
Barcelona again distanced themselves in the 63rd minute. Vitor Roque received Hector Fort’s pass in the penalty box, before shooting the ball along the ground which fooled Sivera. The Blaugrana lead 3-1.
RED CARD! Roque experienced bad luck nine minutes after scoring the goal. He received a second yellow card from the referee for his foul on Rafa Marin. Barcelona must play with 10 players for the remaining time.
Alaves surrounded Barcelona’s defense with superior numbers of players. However, the home team failed to score an additional goal until the final whistle sounded. The match ended with Los Cules winning 3-1.
This result means Barcelona has now collected 50 points from 23 matches. Xavi Hernandez’s troops are 5 points from Girona above them.
