An interview, the one that took place in the Roman prison of Regina Coeli, dictated by the need to agree on a defensive line that will be pitted before the review court. Criminal lawyer Roberto De Vita, who assists the naval officer arrested because accused of having sold some classified information to the Russians, has in fact filed the application with the Freedom Court.

A request based above all on the words that the suspect told him during the various interviews: “The information I could have available according to the qualifications of my post was information not of military operational and strategic military interest – said Biot – And therefore the disputes that are moved to me may relate to facts of very low relevance. They could not by definition compromise the national interest ”.

The magistrates of the Rome prosecutor’s office do not think so, who believe that the photos of the documents delivered to the Russians contained confidential and secret material. The documents, reveal the cameras placed by the Defense Staff in the suspect’s office, were acquired at least on three different occasions: on 18, 23 and 25 March. Always with a mobile phone capable of storing the material in a nano sim then delivered to the Russians in a parking lot on the Roman outskirts, in Spinaceto.
“We will ask to be heard by the Rome prosecutor in the coming days. Our goal is to demonstrate that the role played by Walter Biot did not give access to documents of a strategic level, acts that in no way concerned the security of the state “, explains the lawyer De Vita.
In the meantime, the investigations are continuing. The search of the locked cabinet in Biot’s office did not pay off. There was nothing compromising inside: just a bottle of sparkling wine, some clothing, and some irrelevant papers.
