A fire in the Feldkirch construction yard caused a large-scale operation by the fire brigade on Tuesday.

On Tuesday afternoon, around 5:48 p.m., a fire was reported in the Feldkirch building yard by a resident opposite the building yard.

When the fire brigade arrived, a significant part of the building was already engulfed in fire. The fire, which also spread into the false ceilings and cavities, required the use of excavators to demolish the building in a controlled manner.

Roadblock

For safety reasons, a nearby gas station was temporarily closed while the fire was extinguished. In addition, the L53 between the Bärenjunction and the Kapfweg intersection had to be closed to traffic from around 5:50 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

There is no information yet about the cause of the fire; the investigation into this is ongoing.
