West Ham are in the quarter-finals of the Europa League. With a goal from Lucas Paquetá, the Hammers beat Freiburg 5-0, this Thursday (14), at the Olympic Stadium in London and advanced to the next stage. In addition to the Brazilian, who opened the scoring, Bowen, Cresswell and Kudus, twice, found the net for the home team. In this way, the English club managed to recover from the 1-0 defeat in the first game, in Germany, and asserted field control to confirm their classification.
Now, West Ham awaits the UEFA draw that will be held this Friday (15), to find out who their opponents will be in the next phase. Furthermore, the Hammers joined Milan, Benfica and Olympique de Marseille as the teams that confirmed their qualification in the first wave of games this Thursday.
On the other hand, Freiburg says goodbye to the Europa League after arriving in London with the advantage of a draw. This is because the Germans won the first game 1-0. But, just nine minutes into the game this Thursday, Paquetá showed that the duel in Germany had been an accident at West Ham’s work.
