Fans of the video game “Fortnite” have been waiting for the start of Chapter 5 Season 2 since this morning. The servers have been down since 9 a.m. due to the update v29.00 – and this time longer than usual. When will it continue?
The video game “Fortnite” has been around for seven years, and since then a new season has been released around every three months – this Friday it happened again. So fans of the co-op survival shooter were eagerly waiting for Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 5. This is also known as “Myths and Mortals”. The new season is all about Greek mythology and gods.
Server shut down due to update
As every time, the servers of Epic Games, the American software company and creator of the popular virtual universe, were shut down – on Friday morning at 9 a.m. our time. The game search went into “downtime” half an hour earlier.
The maintenance work will be used to upload the new update v29.00 for the upcoming season “Myths and Mortals”. As “Mein MMO”, a German-language online magazine on the topics of multiplayer and online games, writes, this is a major update. That’s why it’s likely that the servers will only be up against Lunch at 1 p.m. or 2 p.m will be restarted, according to “My MMO” on Friday morning. That initially sounded realistic, as there were similar downtimes in the last updates.
However, Fortnite fans then had to realize: This prediction doesn’t quite work out. Because around 4 p.m. there was still nothing going on. Epic Games announced that the servers would only be opened after additional eight more hours will go online. That would mean that you only have to watch the new season around 11 p.m. on Friday can play.

Currently you can read on the Epic Games website regarding the new update: “In progress – Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary.”

What to expect in Season 2
Not much is known about the new content of the season. However, according to “My MMO” it writes that gods should be available as skins. Something like this:

According to the online magazine, there will also be new content for LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing.
What “Fortnite” is about
There are different game modes in Fortnite. You can play alone or in a team. Each round begins with 100 players landing on an island. The aim of the game is to be the last person left alive. In order to survive, resources and equipment must be collected. So that the players cannot hide, there is a damage-free zone that gradually shrinks.
