The Book was eliminated from The Masked Singer this Sunday afternoon (4). Underneath the costume was Supla. The singer faced Formiga in a final clash and ended up eliminated by the judges’ choice. Heloísa Perissé was the only one who bet on the artist right away.

Supla chose a musical mix of Wonderwall, by Oasis, and Jesus Christ, by Roberto Carlos, for his first performance — which did not convince the public to save him. The program also featured performances by MC Porquinha and Bode, who were saved by the public and continue on Globo’s musical reality show.

The second performance of the Book was a direct duel with Ant, and he chose Blowin’ in the Wind, by Bob Dylan. The electrifying presentation told the judges that it was Supla.

Formiga, in turn, first performed to the sound of Não É Proibido, by Marisa Monte, and chose a hit that mixes country music and funk for the final fight: Pipoco, by Ana Castela in partnership with Melody.

“I promised to be unfiltered. I said I would say whatever comes to my heart, without creating much beforehand. I’ll start: Ms. Formiga, you killed it in both performances. Now, Livro, you sang in English, which is more difficult to captivate the audience , and you captivated. You sing a lot”, said José Loreto.

“The book gives wings to the imagination, but the ant takes small steps. But you, Ant, go far in the competition. And you stay”, he added.

The judges still had the chance to make one last guess about the identity of the Book:

Finally, Ivete Sangalo revealed that Supla was underneath the costume. “Just wearing this costume, I had fun,” declared the singer.

Kenya Borges had also already announced that he would be the singer, due to the song he chose to sing, and Supla confirmed that he performed Blowin’ in the Wind in honor of his father, Eduardo Suplicy.

“Kenya said exactly that my father always sings. And it’s true, he always sings Racionais or Blowin’ in the Wind. So let’s pay tribute”, he said. “It’s a lyric that says a lot about the ends of wars, which is something we need.”
