DFB Cup, quarter-final match days: Why do the games take place on four different days?
The answer is so simple that you could have guessed it yourself. The reason is money.
The “German Football Association” (DFB) has remarketed the TV rights to the DFB Cup this season. The association decided to expand the four games to four different days.
As a result, parallel events no longer take place and the individual live games can generate more attention and therefore more income.
