The police in Lüneburg are investigating graffiti lettering around International Women’s Day on March 8th. Unknown people used stencils and bright colors to distribute feminist messages throughout the city – such as “Fire and flame to the patriarchy” or “Everyone out on March 8th”. According to police, the graffiti was sprayed on house walls, trash cans and on the ground in pedestrian zones. Accordingly, citizens have already filed several criminal complaints for damage to property. Further investigations are currently underway, a police spokesman said on Thursday. Several demonstrations and events have been registered in the Lüneburg area on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
