The witness Espen Evjenth, who was shot by Zaniar Matapour on June 25, asked that the 44-year-old terror defendant move further away from the witness box before the court was set.
Still carrying the projectile in his throat
Fredrik Fossmark Fjetland (29) was hit under the ear when Zaniar Matapour started shooting on 25 June. Today, he still has the projectile lodged in his throat.
– The doctors did not want to operate, as it is a vulnerable area of the body. So we had to wait and see if the body absorbed the projectile. Now muscles and tissues have enclosed it, so the projectile is part of my body now, Fjetland said when he explained himself to the Oslo District Court on Wednesday.
He was on the dance floor at the London Pub on the night of June 25 a year and a half ago when he was hit by a bullet that went through the window of the popular nightspot. The dance floor was packed, the music was loud and it was difficult to hear what my friend was saying.
– I bent my head slightly to the left to hear better. Then I suddenly feel an insane pressure under my ear. It’s starting to sting and I can feel every bit of blood running down, said Fjetland.
Had to move the chair
Matapour’s chair was therefore moved one place closer to the defenders at the request of Evjenth’s legal counsel.
Evjenth speaks up NRK that he thinks it will be good for many of the witnesses, including himself, but that it will be fine for him to carry out anyway.
Espen Evjenth was on the dance floor at the London Pub when he was hit in the head by a bullet from Zaniar Matapour’s firearm.
– I couldn’t take a single dance step before it hit me in the forehead. It was as if someone was going to hit me in the forehead with an anvil. There was no warning, it just happened, Evjenth said when he testified during the terror trial in Oslo District Court on Wednesday.
– I think I’ve been lucky
Evjenth, who would later assume the role of leader of the support group after 25 June, was the first witness on the second day of the trial against Zaniar Matapour.
He was inside the London Pub on the night of 25 June 2022. Together with his partner, he was just about to go out on the dance floor when, without warning, he was hit by a bullet that came through the window from outside. The bullet hit him in the head.

– I managed to think “who was it”, said Evjenth, who thought he had been hit by someone before he passed out.
After a while he came to himself. Then the festive room was completely changed. It was determined that he had been hit by a stray bullet and that he was not injured in a life-threatening manner.
– I think I’ve been lucky. There are no major changes in the trajectory of the ball that would have been needed before this would have ended differently. I am the luckiest man in Oslo who survived this, Evjenth said in court.
– Espen, you’ve been shot
Nettavisen interviewed Evjneth one year after the horrific act of terrorism in Oslo in 2022.
He then said that he did not immediately understand what had happened. Around him there were lots of people asking him strange questions.
– Espen, you’ve been shot, says my girlfriend. It’s only then that I realize it.
At first glance, it looks like the bullet just grazed his forehead. Only in the ambulance do the health personnel discover that he has been shot in the head.
Admitted to Ullevål hospital, he realizes what has happened.
