treviso
The many national teams of Benetton, after a few days of rest, arrive today in Treviso and will join their teammates who are preparing Saturday’s match in Monigo at 2 pm against the Warriors in Urc. Lions at 12 points, the result of two wins and three defeats, Scots at 15 with three wins and two defeats: Treviso aims to overtake.
Andrea Masi, head coach, how will the preparation be set up for the next few days?
«First of all it is a pleasure to see that the group reunites after a long time. The focus will be above all on the clarity of the way in which we will face the Scots: there won’t be much time to prepare for the match but we have two or three basic principles ».
The absence of so many players for a month does not help you.
«We are used to these situations, it is true, but it is limiting to train with a small group. We tried to take advantage of the period by concentrating more on some players who may not have played so much up to now, so the long break was not entirely negative, it was still four productive weeks ».
You have three consecutive defeats behind you: it is clear that against Glasgow we must aim to stop the negative streak.
«We certainly want to win again, it seems clear to me, even if on closer inspection two of those defeats are undeserved: in those games we produced a lot of play, maybe we would also have deserved to win and not lose. In short, as performance we were growing, the challenge now will be to find that level after a month ».
Some national teams will be used on Saturday.
«We have made and will make our assessments regarding the minutes and injuries: I confirm, however, that some of the Azzurri will take the field on Saturday. But don’t ask me who because they still have to come back: we will decide after making the appropriate assessments ». –
