Diabetologists have been asking for the first big news for some time: getting rid of sulfonylureas, drugs to lower blood sugar which, however, expose one of the complications most feared by patients with diabetes: the hypoglycemic crisis. Instead, the new Guidelines for the therapy of type 2 diabetes are clear: no longer prescribe them and replace them as soon as possible in those who already use them, in favor of more modern and effective drugs.
