Vulcan, thirty years old, suffocates and dies for a piece of cheese askew

VULCANO PORTO – A 30-year-old boy from Messina choked to death while eating a piece of cheese. He was spending a few days of vacation with his father in a villa near the port, in Levante on the island of Vulcano. The parent immediately raised the alarm.

The medical guard intervened, the volunteers of the Red Cross who in every way got busy for about thirty minutes even with heart massage. But the young man didn’t make it. Probably the cheese will have gone wrong, closed his airways and suffocated him, making the attempts of health personnel to save him useless. The carabinieri, the municipal councilor Massimo D’Auria and the municipal delegate Giovanni Di Vincenzo also intervened.
