SILEA. Everyone on stage. Like every year, the students of the middle school of Silea Marco Polo have prepared a show dedicated to a great historical event.
On May 13 it was the turn of the Belle Époque. After dancing and acting, two students shared what the making of this event meant for them.
Here is the story of Francesca Cazzaro and Arianna De Vidi, both of the Terza B.
«Here in Silea there is an air of Belle Epoque! In the last month of May 33 dancers, 39 actors and 22 singers were catapulted into the early 1900s and were involved in the preparation of a wonderful show. The students of the “Marco Polo” Secondary School of Silea, with the support of the municipal administration, identified with the great personalities of that era, capable of revolutionizing Europe with their important inventions, which still condition our life today.
Under the guidance of the teachers, on Friday 13 May, from 8 pm, the students were able to show off their costumes and their talent. Songs, dances and emotions made the event unique, managing to transport the public on a journey into the past: a setting characterized by a complex reality of progress, innovations and dreams, but at the same time also between shadows, poverty and difficulties.
Fight, commitment and effort, of course, but also happiness, lightness and the will to live. These are the values that the boys wanted to remember with this show, not to forget the ugliness of the past but also the beauties that make you want the future. The fascinating world of the Belle Époque is back! “
