There is little to rest assured. Most of the world is still behind with vaccinations, too far behind: we are talking above all of middle and low-income countries, with backward health systems, those that even more than others would need many vaccines, and quickly. At the moment, the governments of the countries that represent about a fifth of the world population have managed to optionally six billion doses; the remaining four-fifths – the poorest – can only be shared out two and a half billion, one of which comes from Covax, the international solidarity health program of the Gavi Alliance.
