Hence, the Italian Saipem has been awarded a new contract by Qatargas worth over 1 billion dollars for the North Field Production Sustainability Pipelines Project, located off the north-eastern coast of the Qatar peninsula.

The new contract (“EPCL” package) provides for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of offshore export pipelines and related ground connection works and is part of the development of the North Field production plateau. , which also includes the EPCI of offshore plants (“EPCO” package) previously assigned to Saipem in February. The work of the EPCL package includes three export pipelines linking their respective offshore platforms to the Qatargas North and South plants in the industrial city of Ras Laffan for a total length of nearly 300 km, as well as related grounding and brownfield activities on structures. existing onshore and offshore. Pipeline laying operations will be carried out by the ships DE HE and Saipem Endeavor.

Saipem will strengthen the execution of the overall project, which includes both the EPCO and EPCL packages, by combining the related work programs and project management and immediately starting the activities. The completion of the project is expected by mid-2024.
