The Anti-Mafia Investigative Directorate, at the disposal of the Court of Reggio Calabria – Prevention Measures Section, carried out a decree for the seizure of assets against an entrepreneur originally from Cittanova (RC): the man, in July 2016, was arrested as part of the anti-mafia operation called “Alchemia”, following the investigations coordinated by the Reggio Calabria Public Prosecutor’s Office, District Anti-Mafia Directorate, because he was seriously suspected of the crime of mafia-type association, as a participant in the Raso-Gullace-Albanese clan.

Although the Court of Palmi (Rc) on 18 July 2020 then acquitted the man of the charge ascribed to him for not having committed the fact, the Court of Reggio Calabria, on the proposal of the Reggio Prosecutor’s Office, following the in-depth patrimonial investigations of the Dia, however, issued the seizure order, considering the subject in any case characterized by a qualified social danger as suspected of belonging to the Raso-Gullace-Albanese mafia association of Cittanova, and in particular to the joint operating in Ligurian territory, where for some time the clan is rooted, from where it maintains a close connection with the seat of origin.

The seizure affected the entire share capital and corporate assets of 4 companies in the construction and real estate sectors, 21 buildings and 13 land in Genoa and the province, Cittanova (Rc), Bardi (Pr) and Bardineto in the Savonese area, current accounts and financial positions for an estimated value of approximately 2 million euros. The result is part of the operational activities aimed at the aggression of the illicit wealth acquired and attributable, directly or indirectly, to delinquent contexts, thus protecting the healthy part of the national economy
