The previous child support, however, does not meet these requirements: At present, all parents are supported or relieved by the child benefit of currently 250 euros per month or the tax child allowance of 8952 euros per year, depending on what is financially better for them. Those who receive child benefit receive a maximum of 3,000 euros per child per year. Anyone who is “relieved” by the child allowance can expect a maximum tax saving of 4248 euros, i.e. 1248 euros more per year. Up to the age of 18, this difference adds up to 22,464 euros per child, with higher earners having more in their wallets than recipients of child benefit.
