Agostino Sommariva’s company was indicated by Forbes, the most famous international magazine that deals with business leadership, among the 100 Italian excellences. A prestigious recognition for the Sommariva farm, today led by Agostino, Anna, Gabriele and Alice which for five generations has been producing extra virgin olive oil, olives, Genoese pesto, creams, sauces, preserves and condiments. High quality products, the result of passionate work in the family olive groves, in the name of tradition and craftsmanship. «Love and respect for the land – Agostino Sommariva, CEO of the company, told Forbes -. We can thus summarize our simple philosophy that has accompanied our work for over 107 years, made up of passion and commitment in transforming the fruits of our wonderful Liguria ». The company, which was one of the first Italian companies to obtain organic certification in 1972, has its roots in 1915, when the Sommariva family left Genoa for the Albenga plain. The turnover in 2021 was 2.3 million euros. «Today, in our company – says Agostino Sommariva – 15 people work. We have an availability of 20 hectares of olive groves and horticultural crops. Every year we produce 60 thousand bottles of oil and over 200 thousand jars of pesto and olive cream ». The commitment throughout the production chain is rigorous: from the care of the raw material to the packaging.
