Sorgenia together with the startup Hive Power, through a study completed at the end of last year, analyzed the functioning of a smart charging tool that allows maximizing the efficiency of the network and, where present, of the photovoltaic system.

At the base of everything is an algorithm developed by Hive Power. The advantage lies in automatically determining and setting the optimal charging times for the greatest benefit, taking into account photovoltaic forecasts, load profiles, energy prices, incentives and the status of any storage system available to the customer. user.

For each profile, different scenarios were tested, differentiated by type of vehicle (electric or plug-in), home (with or without photovoltaic system) and geographical area (Milan and Rome).

Among the evidence that emerged, the more the mobility profile of an electric car driver is characterized by flexibility, the more the motorist will be able to exploit the time slots in which the cost of energy is more convenient, ensuring greater savings . Drivers with a less flexible mobility profile who do not own a photovoltaic system can save up to 18% on charging.
