Cibus 2022 closes and returns to pre-pandemic numbers

The 2022 edition of Cibus, the made in Italy food fair, closed on Friday 6 May in Parma and Federalimentare, returning to pre-pandemic numbers: 60 thousand professional operators registered among the stands, of which 3 thousand top foreign buyers. On the other hand, about 3 thousand companies, overwhelmingly Italian, are exhibiting.

The flagship edition of Cibus is held every two years, but as per tradition also in 2023 – from 29 to 30 March – Fiere di parma will organize the light version, in conjunction with Vinitaly, to allow international operators to spend more days in Italy and get to know the companies of Made in Italy food excellence up close.

Also this year, the Cibus Food Saving initiative was held, created by the Food Bank to recover the surpluses of exhibitors at the end of the fair: the food donated by the exhibiting companies will go to 742 affiliated charitable structures in the Emilia Romagna area.

On the other hand, the 2022 edition of Macfrut 2022, the three days dedicated to fruit and vegetables hosted at the Rimini Expo Center, closed with growing numbers: 38,500 attendees registered, 18% more than the September 2021 edition.
