Company fleets of electric cars (and more): here’s how to monitor and manage them online

Hybrid and electric cars are making their way into the world of corporate fleets that are candidates to drive the ecological transition of the Italian fleet, but to better manage them, ad hoc tools are needed, as proposed by LoJack which monitors the state of the cars to allow them efficient use.

Electrified cars: the climb into corporate fleets

Car rental alone now accounts for 30% of electric registrations and 47% of plug-in hybrids. To meet the new needs of fleet and mobility Managers and drivers of company cars on tap, LoJack, CalAmp group, specialist in telematics solutions for mobility and in the recovery of stolen vehicles, has enriched the innovative iOn Fleet Management platform.

What the new platform includes

The news was announced on the occasion of the Fleet & Business Day event, promoted by Quattroruote in Cernobbio and dedicated to fleet and mobility managers.

The absolute novelty concerns the management of e-vehicles: by accessing the platform, the fleet manager can now easily view the state of charge of the batteries of the individual vehicles in the fleet, indicated in different colors (over 50% of charge with green while from 26% to 49% with yellow and under 25% with red), and therefore is able to better organize the movements of vehicles in the fleet or to direct the cars urgently towards the necessary recharging. The monitoring also extends to plug-in hybrid vehicles, for which, in addition to the battery charge level, the fuel status in the tank is also provided, so that the actual mileage capacity of the vehicle can be better calculated before of the new refueling.

Monitoraggio always on

A further feature concerns the possibility of setting alert messages for the fleet manager and / or the driver, to be received when the battery charge level exceeds the warning level and therefore the vehicle needs to be recharged.
